The Residency

The 30th Annual St. Kitts Residency

Residency: July 7th through July 15th 2012

Doctoral Oral Defenses and Oral Exams: July 5th and 6th

Since 1979, the University has held its annual Residency program in St. Kitts. The Residency comprises conferences, lectures, classes, oral examinations, graduation and award ceremonies. IUGS doctoral candidates are required to attend this seven day course of study from. The Residency provides a learning environment in which candidates, faculty and administrators make academic, professional, and social connections. Many candidates, as well as alumni, bring their families and friends to share this experience. The Residency is open to other professionals and academics who want participate in a professional level learning opportunity.

A listing of the courses offered will be posted by the second week of April

Candidates planning to take their Oral Defense or Oral Exam you will need to arrive on July 5th or 6th. Please contact your Dean to arrange your Defense or Exam schedule. Other arrangements can be made if needed.

Cap & Gowns

The following will provide you with the information you require regarding the ordering of caps and gowns for the graduation ceremony at the residency in St. Kitts.

The difference between the academic regalia and the souvenir outfit is the material and the cost. The cost of the academic regalia is $400-800/outfit The Souvenir outfit is preferable as it is lighter weight and cost about $70.00/outfit
