Dean, Faculty of Management and Applied Economics

Dr. Weisman was awarded a graduate fellowship at New York University in 1957 where he earned his M.B.A. in 1959. He declined a full tuition and living expense doctoral scholarship to Massachusetts Institute of Technology to accept a doctoral fellowship at New York University's Graduate School of Business and to become the youngest instructor in the history of NYU's School of Business.

In 1961 he joined the faculty of Iona College in Westchester County, New York, where over his 13 year tenure he became the Department Chairperson of the Business Department, co-founded the first M.B.A. programme in the County, and was voted as the best and most influential teacher of the decade by the students.

In 1970 he completed his Ph.D. with distinction and was the "Founder's Day Award" winner.

In 1974 he declined the Governor of New Jersey's appointment to become the Dean of the School of Business at Montclair State University as a full professor at the highest level of rank seven. Dr. Weisman did accept the position of full professor and was to create a Business and Economics Department at Mercy College in Westchester County, New York. In the six years under his leadership, enrollment grew from 0 to over 6000 students and 200 faculty members. Professor Weisman was honored by the Westchester County Legislature in a proclamation which stated "he created the largest and best business programme in the County".

In 1976, while maintaining his chair of the Business and Economics Department, he founded and became the first Dean of Long Island University's Graduate Business School in Westchester County. Professor Weisman was highly honored when he received the President's Award at Mercy College in 1996 for outstanding and distinguished service. This award has only conferred one other time in fifty-six years.

In 1979, he co-founded International University for Graduate Studies with Dr. Lewis Ross, and became the first Chancellor, a position which he occupies today.

In addition, Dr. Weisman has served as consultant to the County Executive of Westchester County, New York for 13 years, the Mayor's Office of New York, and to large public companies and small businesses. Among his many honors, awards and memberships are: the Who's Who of International Intellectuals, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, MENSA and various honorary degrees.
